Paal Bakstad

Paal brings three decades worth of civil litigation experience to Bibiyan Law Group, first as a civil litigation paralegal and law clerk (1994-2000), then as a civil litigation attorney (2001-present).  Paal earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Santa Barbara; his Paralegal Certificate in Litigation from UCLA Extension (with Honors); and his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he earned the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award in Civil Procedure 2.  Paal has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, through trials and appeals, in state and federal courts.  He is admitted to all California state courts, all United States district courts in California, as well as the Eastern District of Wisconsin.  Paal is active in the local Norwegian-American community and speaks Norwegian.

Paal’s practice has primarily been in the insurance defense context, and he is pleased to join the Plaintiffs’ Bar and fight for the rights of California workers.
